Using the images taken from the installation of my work at the National Gallery, I wanted to further my understanding of that work in relation to the space I made it in.
I began to make drawings of the distances between my fingers, which related to the use of the thread used in the final piece. The drawings began to take form into ‘cats cradle’ like structures.
I played around with the imagery of the hands approaching the mirrored surface, so the drawings took on a moor symmetrical format as it developed.
I took away the hands once the cats cradle structures were made. I enjoy the striking shapes they make and wonder how they could become three dimensional objects.
