As a short exercise I wanted to try and draw out the movements my cats body made when she played with a ball. I enjoy the way that she contorts and twists herself to try to attain the ball that is always on the move.
My marks were quickly made in response to the quick pace that my cat was playing around the room.
I then focused on just her paws as they darted fleetingly across the floor in response to the ball.
Using the thickness of the brush as it was loaded up with ink mixed with gold pigment, I traced the moved of my cats feet to make this quite abstract action drawing. I added in the ball using red wax to give reference to the black ink paw marks.
